'Myrkskog warrior', Inktober 2016, #16

Not sure what to say about this, as it sort of transmogrified as work progressed on it. The project started out as a drawing of one of the villains in my novel/graphic novel, the Vale of Odin, but the concept and idea of that character is still evolving, and part way through the sketches for this, I decided that it would be something else entirely, although influenced by the same theme - basically, a sort of dark nordic warrior that lived deep in the deep, dark woods. As though his tribe/clan rarely had positive interaction with the rest of humanity and worshiped dark gods unknown by the rest of the world.  The pose quickly got restricted by the format of my moleskine sketchbook, but I stuck with it.
