Description

It seems that whenever I sit down to draw without any aim or goal, I end up drawing characters looking at the camera with an extremely cynical expression. Any other kind of expression I need to focus and make an effort not to make it like these guys. I suppose they are one of the characters from my graphic novel project, Vale of Odin, but really they are random nordic/viking inspired peeps that could fit into any theme universe really.  Basic drawing with a Col-Erase tuscan-red pencil, (I feel the colour adds a lot of life to a drawing) then inked with a Hunt 102 on top, in my "failbook" sketchbook, which I do my practice, ideas and my licence to fail images. The Strathmore 400 paper is quite nice for a crowquill, so long as you use the right ink, else it will bleed right through - especially markers and pen brushes, but for a scratchy nib, its good feedback for drawing with.

Chainmail rendering in ink... yeah... needs a lot of work and experimentation. Shame there's no tutorials on that....
